Head Tracking for Desktop VR Displays using the WiiRemote
Dodał: jcl5m
Opis filmu:
Using the infrared camera in the Wii remote and a head mounted sensor bar (two IR LEDs), you can accurately track the location of your head and render view dependent images on the screen. This effectively transforms your display into a portal to a virtual environment. The display properly reacts to head and body movement as if it were a real window creating a realistic illusion of depth and space. By Johnny Chung Lee, Carnegie Mellon University. just sitting here laughing from amazement .. AWESOME JOB JONNY .. I SAW YOU ON TED and now im here trying to emulate your results .. Thank you for this amazing discovery/creation
realy helps!! gonna use this a LOT!
and I still don't see any games that use this technology today! :(

just by what you just shown the wii was the most innovative current gen console.
times at most. Would the experience be even more immersive? Also when will technology like this be a common part of every day life?
 Lee, you're simply brilliant!!!
 going to do that
on the TV facing the player could do head tracking and make a seriously cool Wii game! Lets hope we see one for Wii U..Johnny should be a game dev! :))
 informative explanation.
that screw with picture quality and overcomplicated systems to create a 3d effect.
Johnny. Quick question, what happens if you are using a 3d tv combined with this?
 6D Image!!

we do to get this technology into popular action games? Seriously can we give signatures in some petition or spam some specific mail addresses? I will never pay for the regular 3d glasses but I'd gladly pay a few hundred bucks to get this working in games like Battlefield 3 and I doubt that I'm
alone in this.
higher, the technology has been around for years and Nvidia has been using it for pc since then
watched this years ago, and i still cant work out why this hasnt been implemented in any computer games yet.
the whiteboard app is amazing! hope u r making a fortune!!!

Wii mote was capable of such things. Especially the white board. Further to that the Wilmot table using a mirror. Tis witchcraft lol ... Bravo indeed
 the image stays the same.
